BIO

Aaron Weatherholt was born and raised in a small town in West Virginia. His mother was his most significant musical influence, being a singer herself. Aaron would often sit outside the practice room in their basement and listen to her rock band rehearse. His father, a hardworking truck driver and mechanic, gets the credit for instilling a work ethic that has kept Aaron afloat even when the gigs weren't paying enough to cover the bills.
Often, while visiting his grandparents, he would help in the garden. On occasion, if it were just him and his papaw, his papaw would take Aaron to the American Legion, where he would sip on milk and listen to older men tell war stories and talk about the many other things he was too young to understand. Aaron credits much of his patriotism to his grandfather, a World War II combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient.
Aaron moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1998, where playing music became his livelihood. While in Nashville, Aaron shortened his last name to Holt and used the name professionally for many years. Eight months after Aaron arrived in Nashville, he got a gig with The Billy Troy band, where he met future Hillbilly Hammer bandmates Josh Bertrand and Troy Graves. While with The Billy Troy band, Aaron had the honor of playing one show with country music legend Johnny Russell before he passed away in 2001.
After being persuaded by a red-headed cow-girl in 2002, Aaron moved to College Station, Texas, where he cut a record with producer Stormy Cooper. Aaron promoted three songs as radio singles before moving back to Nashville, including “Bake,” “Stay Here a While,” and “Got Somewhere to Go.”
During Aarons's time in Nashville, he also played for several touring artists, including Glen Templeton, Mila Mason, and Andy Griggs. Aaron played the Grand Old Opry with Andy Griggs in front of Alabama Jamey Johnson and Shooter Jennings. Aaron’s opened for many artists, including Don Williams, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Trick Pony, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chesnut, and Shenandoah.
In 2012, Aaron formed the band Hillbilly Hammer with Josh Bertrand, Troy Graves and Stan Saxon. That album is still available wherever music can be downloaded.
After several years of writing songs and playing drums with
other artists, Aaron Weatherholt, signed a record deal with GetJoe Records. Aaron plans to tour the country to help heal the division of our polarized culture. Aaron believes through faith and civil conversation that, we can find an immense amount of common ground between this illusion of right and left. United we stand, divided we fall.
